Of note: Chinese Pole is making a comeback on Wednesday nights for Term 3! // Aerials 101 will be moved from Monday to Tuesday nights from July 23 // Aerial Strength will be a 1-hour class from 7-8pm on Wednesdays from July 11 // Handstands will move from Thursdays to Wednesdays 6-7pm from July 11 // Acrobalance will now be 90 mins and run from 730-9pm on Thursdays as of July 19.

MULTI-CLASS DISCOUNTS
If you purchase 2 classes as term blocks at the same time, you are entitled to a 5% discount.
If you purchase 3 classes as term blocks, you are entitled to a 10% discount.
If you purchase 4 classes or more you are entitled to a 15% discount.

To enrol in multiple term classes make sure your credit card details on your mindbody profile are up to date and then email info@aerialize.com.au with your requested classes. We will take care of the discount, ensuring you are enrolled in all your classes at the discounted rate.

A direct debit payment plan option is available!!!
If you want to pay off your classes in weekly instalments, make sure your credit card details are up to date and then email info@aerialize.com.au with the classes you wish to enrol in. You will then be charged for your first class on sign-up, and the remainder of your classes will be deducted pro-rata each week of the term. The payment plan is flexible so if you would like to pay off your total in fewer instalments just let us know!

  • Bookings essential. Classes require a minimum four students. Classes that don’t meet this number may be cancelled.

CANCELLATION POLICY!
Please take a moment to read through our updated cancellation policy! The policy is based on standard business practices and general courtesy!
1. Minimum 24 hours’ notice is required for any class cancellations – please call or email the office, do not contact your instructor directly – or the class will be forfeited.
2. Cancellations must be for reasons of specific relevant health issue or injury, not due to personal misadventure, or your class will be forfeited.
3. No make-up classes available.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

 


ACROBALANCE

Also known as Adagio, this class works on balancing in pair and group combinations. It’s a fun class using team work to create and challenge your acrobatic abilities. This course is designed for people with all ranges of experience, from beginners to advanced.

 


ACROBATICS

Open

Acrobatics focuses on tumbling, flips using the mini-tramp, handstands and individually based acro skills. This course is designed for people with all ranges of experience.

 


AERIAL CONDITIONING

Aerial Conditioning for Everyone!

This class will focus on key conditioning exercises geared towards improving strength and fitness to assist specifically with your aerial training. We will focus on leg strength and tension, core stability and strength, and shoulder mobility and strength. The program will take you through a range of stabilising exercises as well as compound exercises, designed to get the maximum bang for buck in your training!

This class is designed for any fitness level from beginner to professional, as the exercises will be modified to suit your level. A program will be in place to ensure students are progressing with their training from week to week. Come along, improve your fitness, have some fun and get results!

Due to the delicate nature of the Tissu fabric, please ensure that you do not wear any item of clothing that includes zippers (either pants or jackets) when attending your class. Also please ensure to remove all rings and other jewellery, watches, etc., and anything else that might get caught on the fabric and result in tearing. Thank you for attention to this.


AERIALS 101

This is an introductory class into three of the main aerials apparatuses trapeze, lyra and tissu. In this class you will learn the basic skills and conditioning techniques to build a great foundation to each apparatus from which you can take over to a beginner graded class of your choosing or aerial trio if you still can decide which one you love best.

Due to the delicate nature of the Tissu fabric, please ensure that you do not wear any item of clothing that includes zippers (either pants or jackets) when attending your class. Also please ensure to remove all rings and other jewellery, watches, etc., and anything else that might get caught on the fabric and result in tearing. Thank you for attention to this.


CHINESE POLE

 

A simple and elegant circus apparatus, the Chinese Pole is a sticky aluminum pole generally about 6.5metres high. You will learn different climbs, tricks and slides as well as develop technique and loads of strength. Wear soft soled shoes and an old pair of non-stretchy pants and t-shirt.

 


CONTORTION

This class in an open class and will focus on increasing flexibility, forward and backward walkovers and contortion moves. This class will build on increased flexibility and repertoire of contortion tricks.

 


CORDE LISSE (Aerial Rope)

Rope is the purest, simplest piece of aerial equipment in circus. But don’t let its simplicity fool you – when you take on Rope you enter a whole new world of challenges and rewards. You’ll learn to twist and turn your body around the swinging rope as you defy gravity in a seamless sequence of shapes and movement. This class will mainly focus on rope specific moves, suspension, strength, momentum and transitions.

*Students a required to have a basic aerial knowledge being able to do the following moves.
-French/ Russian climb
-Straddle climb
-Catcher wrap
-Front balance
-Back balance
-Hip lock

 


DUO TRAPEZE

DUO TRAP RESIZE

Grab a partner in crime or make a new one and challenge yourself even further by learning new, more involved tricks and techniques on the trapeze for two.

This course is designed for people who have completed Trapeze Level 1 or equivalent.

 


FLEXIBILITY

Ever wanted to work on your flexibility but not be a contortionist? Well this is the class for you. This class will give student the tools/ability to stretch themselves in a safe and secure way minimising the risk of overstretching or injury. You’ll be taken through a thorough warm-up before being instructed on the correct way to stretch your body to give you those beautiful lines you’ve always desired!

 


HANDSTANDS

This class involves conditioning, body awareness and stretch to further your handstand skills. The instructor will aim to find the handstand technique appropriate for each participant. This class is open for anybody interested in getting inverted. No handstand experience required.

 


LYRA (Aerial Hoop)

Lyra (also known as the hoop, ring, cereaux) is an aerial circular steel apparatus suspended in the air.

LYRA- Beginner

Build strength and learn the aerial ring/hoop while having fun. This class will take you through warmup, stretching and conditioning. Learn tricks, develop your technique in the air and start to develop a repertoire of skils.

LYRA- Continuer

Continues to build strength and fitness, learns new and more advanced tricks and performance skill, preparing you for level 3-4.

LYRA- Intermediate

Take your skills further and learn new, more involved tricks and techniques on the aerial ring. This class will revise old tricks, develop your performance skills, and improve your flexibility and strength.

LYRA- Advanced

Solidify your skills and take your practice to a performance level. Learn new tricks and perfect those already learned.

LYRA – OPEN

Lyra open is a mixed level class aimed at all levels. This class would be beneficial to those of you looking to make up a class, trying lyra before enrolling, unable to commit to a full term, or adding an additional lyra class to your main lyra enrolment.


STRAPS

This class offers students to learn the basic skills of one of the hardest, yet most sought after aerial apparatus- Aerial Straps. Learn the strength and flexibility it takes to perform tricks on this incredible apparatus with grace and ease.

 


TISSU (SILKS)

A tissu is two strips of fabric hung from a single point approximately 7m high.

TISSU- Beginner

You will learn to climb and drop, and twist yourself in knots high in the air.

TISSU- Continuer

Take your skills further and learn new, more involved tricks and techniques on the tissu. Performance skills and techniques are introduced and further developed in this class. This course is designed for people who have completed at least two terms of Tissu Level 1 or equivalent.

TISSU- Intermediate

Students work on developing their skills and fitness in order to progress to Level 4.

TISSU- Advanced

This class is for people who have been doing the intermediate classes and meet the skill and fitness prerequisites of this class. You will learn more involved tricks and drops. Every encouragement is given to people to construct their own routine, and develop performance techniques.

TISSU – OPEN

Tissu open is a mixed level class aimed at all levels. This class would be beneficial to those of you looking to make up a class, trying tissu before enrolling, unable to commit to a full term, or adding an additional tissu class to your main tissu enrolment.

TRAPEZE

Trapeze (static/fixed/dance) is a type of circus art performed on a single bar with ropes on the side.  In contrast to the other forms of trapeze, on static trapeze the bars and ropes mainly stay in place.

TRAPEZE- Beginner

Build strength and learn the basics of static trapeze whilst having fun. This class focuses solely on trapeze and will take you through warm up, stretching and repertoire.

TRAPEZE- Continuer

Take your skills further and learn new, more involved tricks and techniques on the trapeze. Performance skills and techniques are introduced and further developed in this class. This course is designed for people who have completed at least two terms of Trapeze Level 1 or equivalent.

TRAPEZE- Intermediate

This course is for students who have been doing the intermediate trapeze course and would like to focus more on performance techniques. In this class you will work with different ideas and concepts such as improvisation, props and unusual equipment. You will work on more elite aerial skills.

TRAPEZE- Advanced

Take your skills to the next level with this course, designed for those who want to perfect their technique, build on their repertoire and develop their personal performance style.
